The Pass Review is an independent editorial site about the equipment that keeps a restaurant and bar running. We line up the makers behind everyday front-of-house gear, from leather coasters and server books to guest checks, table stands, bar mats and aprons, and rate them so operators can shortlist a supplier without trawling through endless vendors.
What we do
We group the main suppliers in each category and score them on what matters in service: build quality, customization, value, lead time and support. We do not sell anything we cover. The point is honest, usable guidance for people who are busy running a venue.
How we stay honest
- We judge gear on how it performs through a real service, not on spec sheets.
- We show our reasoning so you can decide what fits your room.
- We revisit categories as products and suppliers change.
More on our scoring is on the how we rate page.
Who runs The Pass Review
Ray Delgado spent fifteen years behind the bar and running floors, from a neighborhood bistro to a high-volume cocktail bar, before moving into writing. He has hired and trained large teams, opened a venue from bare walls, and has strong opinions about gear that wastes a server’s time. He reviews hospitality supplies the way he bought them as a manager: does it hold up, does it earn its place, would he buy it again?
